This service doesn't require you to change long distance carriers just to get a toll free number. The ring to number can be any actual phone number of your choosing that can accept outside calls.
This opens the door to many possible uses that where once not possible.You don't even need to own the phone line that the toll free number will ring to. The toll free number is only yours to give out to whom you want and only you will receive the bill for its usage. Granted you wouldn't want to choose just any phone for the ring to number but now you can have toll free service by its self anywhere that you are near a regular phone.
