What is "Stand Alone Toll Free"?

Students in a dorm are often stuck with the services provided thru the university. The university often makes money on this usage so they do not want you to nor will they let you choose your own carrier.

If you have a temporary promotion and you want to supply a toll free number just for it changing carriers really doesn't make sense.

If you are behind PBX equipment (and your extension is an actual number and not some number ext: 22) and you want your kids to be able to reach you in an emergency you would not be able to change carriers just for your cubicle.
