Toll Free 800 service. How does it work?
When you apply for a toll free number you are not really applying for a new number at all. Toll free calls are being forwarded to one of your existing numbers (called the ring to number) just like call forwarding.
So your home or office will not have a new phone line associated with the toll free number.If you in fact need a different line to handle the incoming toll free calls then you will need to install one from the local telephone company first. Then once you have the new line you can order some kind of toll free service from one of the many long distance carriers that offer it.
